Description
South Coast Bush Campground is large, with generous sites and plenty of turning room for large vans. The dune vegetation and trees make the campground protected with the feeling of being immersed in the bush, and yet the beach is only a short walk away, along walking tracks in the dunes.
A toilet is provided but self-sufficient camping is encouraged. There is no phone reception so permits must be booked prior to arrival. The closest bin bank is in Warooka at the town oval.
Warooka has many facilities, including: a supermarket, pharmacy, butcher, hotel, petrol station, Visitor Information Outlet and more.

South Coast Bush Campground is located approximately 4 km northeast of Foul Bay, along South Coast Road. Foul Bay is situated approximately 37km from Warooka, including 16km of unsealed road, via Yorke Highway, Foul Bay Road and South Coast Road. Or, if you’ve been visiting the National Park, it is 30km from Marion Bay, via Yorke Highway and Happy Valley Road (19km unsealed road).
Terms & Conditions
By purchasing a Yorke Peninsula Council Bush Camping permit, you are agreeing to abide by the following Terms and Conditions, all of which are enforced at the discretion of Council’s compliance staff. **Refunds Council has a policy of not refunding bush camping permit fees within seven days of the booking. Bookings outside of this seven-day window are to be cancelled using the online booking system and will be refunded. Campers who wish to change campgrounds partway through a permit must first contact Council via info@visityorkepeninsula.com.au or by calling 8832 0000. Camping Council has designated the bush campgrounds as locations where camping is permitted. Campers must purchase Bush Camping permits online or by contacting a Yorke Peninsula Council office before entering a campground. A permit covers one motor vehicle (and caravan/trailer). Each booking is for one campground only, if you wish to change campgrounds during your stay please book each campground separately or alternatively contact Council via info@visityorkepeninsula.com.au or by calling 8832 0000. Camping in other locations on local government land or on any road is prohibited. It is also illegal to camp on any Council-managed foreshore. This permit does NOT cover Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park – please refer to www.parks.sa.gov.au. Any person who camps in a non-authorised area or does not pay the appropriate fee prior to using the designated campground may be issued with a $312.50 expiation notice. Pursuant to Council’s by-laws, ‘camping’ includes setting up a camp, or causing a tent, caravan or motor home to remain on the land for the purpose of staying overnight, whether or not any person is in attendance or sleeps on the land. The maximum booking per permit is 30 consecutive days. After camping on any of the designated camping reserves for a period of 60 consecutive days, you are unable to camp on any designated camping reserve until a further 30 consecutive
