The Visitor Information Centre is staffed by a dedicated and enthusiastic band of volunteers.

Volunteers-on-famil July2014We welcome all inquiries about volunteering, and encourage you to join in an experience that people find rewarding, challenging, interesting and enjoyable. Volunteering will provide you with an opportunity to meet people from all over the world as well as get to know local people with similar interests.

The duties of a volunteer include:

* provide a warm, friendly and sincere welcome to visitors to Yorke Peninsula, thus enticing visitors to stay longer in our region

* assist visitors with all enquiries in an unbiased manner

* answer questions from tourists, visitors, local residents, over the counter and by telephone

* answer telephone promptly and politely if staff member is not available

* provide literature and information on local places of interest


The benefits of being a visitor centre volunteer include:

* learning more about your area

* meeting new people, making new friendships

* becoming part of a vibrant team servicing the community

* taking part in local tours


The time commitment required for volunteers:

* shifts are Monday to Friday 9am - 1pm or 1pm - 5pm, Saturday 9am - 3pm, Sunday and Public Holidays 10am - 3pm

* volunteers are included in a monthly roster, and the minimum hours required are 4 hours each fortnight
