This permit covers the Council's bush camp grounds and is transferrable between all 19 designated grounds.


Yorke Peninsula Council recognises that bush camping on Yorke Peninsula is part of the local culture and are keen to see that every effort is made to enhance that experience.

*  all designated bush camp grounds are subject to a fee and a permit must be obtained prior to setting up camp

*  the permit is not restricted to a particular camp ground, but covers camping at any of Yorke Peninsula's designated camp grounds - click here to see map

*  all camping permits are recorded on a central data base - there is no need to print anything, rangers will monitor vehicle registration details

Cost for a permit is $10 per site per night; however there are special rates for longer stays for residents.

Permits available include nightly, weekly, monthly and yearly.

  • Yorketown Council Office - 15 Yorketown Road Yorketown
  • Warooka Council Office - Player Street Warooka (Open Tuesday and Thursday)


Council's By Laws state that 'camping includes setting up a camp, or causing a tent, caravan or motor home to remain on the land for the purpose of staying overnight, whether or not any person is in attendance or sleeps on the land. Upon camping on any of the designated camping reserves for a period of six consecutive weeks, you are unable to camp on any designated camping reserve until a period of a further four consecutive weeks has expired'.
